Avoid Covid-19: Act NOW!

AVOID COVID-19 – Coronavirus Disease  Identified in December 2019

DO NOT PANIC – BE CAREFUL AND AWARE – PROTECT ELDERLY AND THOSE ALREADY BATTLING OTHER CHRONIC ILLNESSES

President Ramaphosa has made a stand. Are you making a stand? Are the Lieutenants making a stand? If the middle and senior management do not equally stand up and take hold of the decisive actions by the South African Government and our leader President Ramaphosa taken on Sunday 15 March 2020, then we will fail.

16 March 2020: Do you have the choice and opportunity to break the sequence?

Can you help slow the spread of Covid-19?

Then DO IT!!

Every ONE person counts.

Every ONE person who does not care will impact hundreds if not thousands.

That means, if you care and you stop the sequence YOU help hundreds if not thousands.

Stop the Covid-19 virus in South Africa

Stop the Covid-19 virus in South Africa

“The one who stayed away saved all the other people”

Mark this day, how many South Africans will have to die from Covid-19 before South Africans stand up and support their President?

Failure will come from lieutenants who do not honour their leader and the people will pay the price.

Stand up now and be counted to protect ALL our people.

Be vigilant, don’t go into groups, follow the Guideline – Protect yourself.

COVID-19 is the infectious disease caused by the most recently discovered coronavirus. This new virus and disease were unknown before the outbreak began in Wuhan, China, in December 2019.

There are continuous updates at the World Health Organisation  –  (WHO Website)

Please do not spread panic, fear or the virus! Remain calm and do not listen to all the negative news, seek out positive solutions.

This is not lightning but if information is not shared and left to someone else to share, the virus can spread to others and reach people who are susceptible to other health problems with fatal consequences – we can help prevent this virus from spreading in our country by taking precautions for EVERYONE not just yourself!

The South African Government Department of Health are making regular statements. Before we become immune to devastating numbers, we need to comprehend that the spread of the virus is what must be stopped.

The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) is providing updated reports of the spread in South Africa.

NICD statement 15 March 2020:

“While we continue to see an increase in COVID-19 positive cases in South Africa, there is currently no evidence to suggest that COVID-19 is circulating in South Africa’s population;

however, the status of COVID-19 transmission is increasingly likely to shift based on trends found in other parts of the world.

We call on all South Africans to continue to follow COVID-19 preventive measures such as meticulous hand hygiene and cough etiquette”

As of 16 March 2020, the virus is now also being transmitted locally – circulating in South Africa’s population.

Ongoing statements by the Health Minister indicate that the government are moving to address the enormous risk we face if the virus starts spreading / “circulating in South Africa’s population”.

South African National Taxi Council (Santaco) says its members will continue to operate their businesses as usual.

Santaco secretary Ralph Jones told News24 that while they respected Ramaphosa’s call, their hands were tied because the business of ferrying millions of people from one place to the other every day was critical

On what basis does Mr Jones assume to understand the extent of the pandemic better than the experts who have been diagnosing the threat?

Ref

What specialist did Mr Jones consult before making these statements?

On what basis did Mr Jones deem the “ferrying of millions of people” to be more important than the lives of those millions of people?

If the pandemic strikes our country in its worst form, will Mr Jones or any of the members of the council be safe and be spared and be alive to be held to account for the Taxi Council and any deaths as a consequence of their intransigence?

How will we know that the taxi was the place where the one sick person shared the virus with another? Will the Council deny liability like USA President Donald Trump denies his liabilities to his people? Lets help SANTACO understand the extent of the risk their passengers AND THE DRIVERS are exposed to.

The government cannot do this on their own, we need to help by being vigilant and not panic, be responsible and not arrogant.
